ATC and LAMDA welcome new associate director

We are thrilled to announce that Ameera Conrad has been appointed as ATC’s new Associate Director, in partnership with LAMDA.

The post is funded by the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursary (WCJB) with the aim of improving socio-economic diversity within the arts sector and removing barriers to employment.  Within her new role, Ameera will be working with ATC Artistic Director Matthew Xia and LAMDA Director Sarah Frankcom in the development and realisation of new projects.  Both organisation will support and showcase Ameera’s artistic practice for the next 12 months.

Ameera is a theatre-maker from Cape Town, South Africa. She is an Associate Artist for the National Youth Theatre and is a visiting lecturer for Mountview’s MA Theatre for Community and Education. Her work focuses on decolonising the canon of theatre and amplifying the stories of marginalised groups.

Ameera joins us at us an exciting time, as we are finally able to start preparing to return to live performances with audiences.
